What used to be a rather basic fitness path in Bochum's "Suedpark" back in the 7ts at the height of the "Trimm Dich" frenzy (remember this little fellow?) now actually got some half decent devices straight out the torture chamber.
Cafe Sachs, Bochum.
Back in the days the meeting point for Bochum's In-Crowd. Nowadays mostly students and tourists. Very good Asian food, though.

Herr Müller. Our German speaking audience can find out what's so special about him here. Excellent article by Lyssa, capturing Herr Müller's essence. All others will just have to make do with watching him trying to scare all potential customers away, sorry.
By the way, there was also a sort of semi-contest between Lyssa and me who might get the first picture of Herr Müller. Now guess who won, eh? Yours truly, naturalemente. And don't tell me using a telephoto lense is cheating.
The long since defunct drive-in cinema in Bochum. Where cars used to be parked for cineastic delights or simply for exchange of body fluids, there are now trees growing out of the tarmac.
Back in the days we used to mount our mopeds and drive to the adjacent hills to take a peek at the educational material on display sometimes.
Another detail of the City Statue.

"Pommesbuden" are Germany's answer to Fish & Chips shops. Well, at least in this area.
And here now is the Queen of Pommesbuden, Profi Grill, in Bochum-Wattenscheid. The owner actually used to be a decorated chef before he decided it was time to move back to his roots. So now it's Currywurst and Bohnensalat (both highly recommended) again instead of some fancy girlie food.
Anyway, it really is "lecker" and it is also part of Lyssa's grand prize.
International culture event of the "Soziale Liste Bochum" party for the upcoming city council elections.
Felt like right back in the early 80s, promoting Socialism with "hand made" Blues. Oh well...
was this man. My Dad, turning 70 come October, he had to do one round of the course during the "Jedermann Giro" - the early morning race open to anybody - yesterday.

What once was a tall and proud landmark now fits onto the roof of a very small car.
One of Bochum's many landmarks. More about the "Kuhhirte" (in German) at Wikipedia.
The horror for every self respecting teenager when I was still one of them. Luckily I escaped this fate.
