Richard Serra’s “Bramme for the Ruhr district” on top of the coal mine mound Schurenbachhalde in Essen.
Herr Müller. Our German speaking audience can find out what's so special about him here. Excellent article by Lyssa, capturing Herr Müller's essence. All others will just have to make do with watching him trying to scare all potential customers away, sorry.
By the way, there was also a sort of semi-contest between Lyssa and me who might get the first picture of Herr Müller. Now guess who won, eh? Yours truly, naturalemente. And don't tell me using a telephoto lense is cheating.
Orbiter 3 inside the Gasometer, Oberhausen.
This thing is hUUge! There is a lift on the hull of the Gasometer and you can travel all the way up to a platform to see the Orbiter from above. This was absolutely amazing. Traveling up and down felt like being in some Star Trek movie. The one in which they approach the docked Enterprise in a shuttle.
Needless to say I nearly wet my pants, because I'm such a wuss when it comes to heights.
Abandoned steelworks Phoenix West, Dortmund.
My contribution to the Toilet Union 2004 project.
One of my favourite buildings in London. Built by the incredibly apt named Erno Goldfinger. Read more about it here.
Cranger Kirmes 2004. I dearly love this funfair. A year without a visit at least on one day would be unthinkable.
Germany's Federal Minister of Economics and Labour, Wolfgang Clement, visiting his hometown.
I usually don't do or publish people shots much. But I got a new lense for the Rebel yesterday and was shutter happy with it on a lot of friends during a birthday party last night.
I just hope I did them justice with the pictures.
John Snow. A must visit every time I'm in Soho.
There's actually a rather interesting story surrounding this pub. Read all about it here.
